Dr. Dalton S. Prickett
General Surgery, Vascular |
Dr. Prickett was born in Columbia, South Carolina. He received his B.S.
from the University of South Carolina, Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta
Kappa Honor Society. He then went on to receive his M.D. from the
University of South Carolina School of Medicine where he graduated
Cum Laude. Dr. Prickett served his residency at the University of
Louisville Department of Surgery in Louisville, Kentucky and was
Chief Resident from 1991 to 1992 at which time he was inducted into the
Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He then served as an Instructor
in the Department of Surgery from 1992 to 1993. He joined South Carolina
Surgical Associates in 1993.
Dr. Prickett is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is
board certified in General Surgery. He is past Chairman of the Department
of Surgery at Palmetto Baptist Medical Center as well as past
Chief of Staff. He is also past Vice-Chief
of Surgery at Providence Hospital.
Dr. Prickett along with Dr. Ben Tribble has currently teamed up with
Palmetto Health Baptist Medical Center Weight Loss Management Center
in the treatment and management of morbid obesity. These two surgeons
were the first in the Midlands to perform the weight-loss procedure
laparoscopically.
Dr. Prickett performs both general and vascular surgery. His areas of
interest include laparoscopic surgery such as gallbladder, reflux (GERDS),
gastric bypass, hernia, colon, spleen and appendix. His area of special interest
includes endocrine and gastrointestinal surgery as well as the diagnosis and
treatment of breast disease. |
