Dr. Chad A. Rubin
General Surgery |
Born in Blue Island, Illinois, Dr. Rubin received his undergraduate
degree in Microbiology from Southern Illinois University. He received
his MD degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.
He then completed his Internship and Residency in General Surgery
at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He was Board certified
in 1995 and became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in
1997.
He is the past Chair of the Committee on Young Surgeons of the
American College of Surgeons, having served on the Committee for
several years as a member.. Dr. Rubin is also a member of the American
College of Surgeons General Surgery Coding and Reimbursement Committee
as well as an Alternate Delegate of the American Medical Association
Relative Value Update Committee. He is an Alternate Delegate to
the AMA House of Delegates representing the American College of
Surgeons. He is immediate past Chief of Staff at Richland Memorial
Hospital as well as the past Chief of Surgery. He has served as
Vice Chief of Surgery at Providence Hospital. He is also the medical
director of the Richland Memorial Hospital Vascular Laboratory.
He serves as the Medical Director of Richland Care, a program to
help uninsured patients.
Dr. Rubin performs both general and vascular surgery. His areas
of interest include vascular access for dialysis; laparoscopic
surgery including gallbladder, hernia, colon, spleen, reflux, and
appendix; vascular surgery including carotid, aortic, lower and
upper extremity arterial surgery; general surgery including hernias,
breast, colon, biliary, stomach, skin, and cancer surgery. His
area of special interest includes endocrine surgery: thyroid, parathyroid,
adrenal glands, and pancreas.
