Dr. C.Alden Sweatman
General Surgery |
Dr. Sweatman was born in Columbia, South Carolina and received his
undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina. He received
his MD from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed
his surgical training at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1968-1970 receiving both the Silver
Star for Gallantry in Action and the Bronze Star for Meritorious
Achievement in Grounds Operations against Hostile Forces during his
tour in Vietnam.
Dr. Sweatman is certified by the American Board of Surgery. He has
served as President of the Columbia Medical Society, the South Carolina
Surgical Society, the South Carolina Chapter of the American College
of Surgeons and as Governor of the South Carolina Chapter of the
American College of Surgeons. He is a member of numerous professional
organizations including the Society of American Gastrointestinal
Endoscopic Surgeons and the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
He currently serves on the boards of the University of South Carolina
Educational Foundation and the American College of Surgeons Political Action
Committee.
Dr. Sweatman does all general surgery but has a particular interest in
the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease, endocrine surgery, and laparoscopic
surgery. |
