Dr. Scott W. Taber
General Surgery |
Dr. Taber grew up in Neligh, Nebraska where he received his undergraduate
education from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He was granted
early
acceptance into Creighton University School of Medicine and graduated
in 1988 at which time he was inducted into Alpha Mega Alpha Medical
Honor Society.
Dr. Taber completed a residency in general surgery at the University
of Louisville and affiliated hospitals in Louisville, KY and also
served as a Fellow of
the American Cancer Society. On July 1, 1995 he joined the faculty of
the University of Louisville as an Assistant Professor in the Division
of
Surgical Oncology. After five years of practice in surgical oncology
he joined Surgical Associates of South Carolina.
Dr. Taber is board certified in general surgery and is a member of the Society of Surgical
Oncology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
He is past Chief of Surgery at Providence Hospital.
Dr. Taber currently contributes his services to the Providence Northeast Hospital Wound Care Center.
Dr. Taber's interests include laparoscopic surgery, hernia and gallbladder surgery
as well as the diagnosis and treatment of wounds. His areas of special interest
are are in surgical oncology including surgery of the liver, pancreas, and esophagus. |
