Insurance Providers
A Word or Two About
Insurance
Insurance Coverage is often confusing. Many insurance companies
pay the full amount of your claim. Others reimburse a certain
percentage and require that you pay any deductible or other balance.
Government plans such as Medicare operate even differently.
- It should be understood that your insurance policy is an
agreement between you and your insurance company to pay certain
amounts for medical/surgical care.
- Your physician's bill is an agreement between you and your
physician.
- We are participating providers for all leading insurance
companies and follow their guidelines. The patient is responsible
at the time of service for all co-pays and deductibles.
- Our doctors are also participating physicians with Medicare
and Medicaid. We will file claims for you and accept assignment.
You will be responsible for your Medicare deductible and co-pay.
- If you have an unpaid balance, you will receive monthly bills
regardless of the status of your claim.
- If you have questions regarding your account, you may call our
Insurance Department at (803) 254-0540.
We at Surgical Associates make every effort to make it a
comfortable experience for you. We cooperate completely with
insurance companies and do everything possible to make sure certain
reimbursements to you are made in a timely fashion. Be assured that
we will not deny care to patients who are in need of treatment. If
payment creates financial difficulties, we will work with you on an
alternate schedule. |
